  • How do I order a light in a different finish?

    Use the drop down list on the product page to select your desired finish. If we have a photograph of the product in the finish you have selected this will display.  If we do not, the finish, size and colour will show in the basket and at checkout.

  • What type of light bulb do I need, and will it be included with the delivery?

    There is a recommended bulb listed in the product information, or alternatively the Download Tearsheet tab on the product page will tell you which bulb is best for the specific product you have chosen. Light bulbs are not included unless specified.

  • Where can I find technical information about the light I’ve purchased?

    On the product page you will see a Download Tearsheet button. If you click on this you can download it to your local computer.

  • Can I order a longer chain that the one supplied?

    Yes. If you require a different drop or size of chain please specify this on your order, otherwise the standard 0.5m chain will be supplied. Please be advised that additional lengths may incur extra charges.

  • Can I see the light before I place my order?

    Yes. If there is a light you wish to view, please visit our London Showroom or if you are in the USA, one of our agent's showrooms.

  • Do the lights come with all the fittings and screws?

    Yes, all fittings are included and are shown in the What's In The Box section. We recommend you always use the fittings supplied and use a qualified electrician for installation.

  • How can I see a sample of the different finishes?

    You can see the different finishes on the product pages, or you can visit our Showroom to view them in person.

  • Do I need a qualified electrician to install my lights?

    This will depend on the lights you have ordered but we recommend you use a qualified electrician. Some of the larger lights may require specialist installation and we recommend that you speak with our sales team about this for further advice.

  • What kind of dimmer system will work for my light fixture?

    Phase control dimmers work by chopping out parts of the voltage and reducing power to the light source. The two types of phase control dimmer available are ‘trailing-edge’ and ‘leading-edge’. These two different types work in different ways. Because they work differently, this ultimately affects their compatibility with certain light forms:

    1. Leading-edge: inductive loads (e.g. magnetic low voltage transformers), resistive loads (e.g. incandescent). 
    2. Trailing-edge: capacitive loads (e.g. electronic low voltage transformers, LED drivers), resistive loads (e.g. incandescent).

    For further information please see our Technical Guide on phase control dimmers.  We strongly advise you discuss dimmers and their compatibility with the fittings you have selected with your installer before you purchase either the lights or the dimmers.

  • How much will shipping cost?

    At the checkout your shipping cost will be shown. If you change the quantity in your basket please ensure you Update your basket to ensure the correct shipping cost is displayed. Orders for extra large items and multiple products will require a bespoke shipping quote which will be provided by our sales team by email on the next working day.  This is to ensure you benefit from us calculating the most cost effective way of shipping the goods.

    Standard Delivery Charge: £7.95 per item for online orders 

    Larger items: £40.00 per item - this will be made clear upon checkout. 

    The delivery charges for all other products are based on the weight, size and quantities of the order placed. If your order exceeds the £50 limit for shipping you will be advised with a shipping quote at the next working day.

    There is an additional charge for deliveries to GBR Islands. 

  • How long will delivery take?

    Deliveries will generally be made between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). As the majority of our lights are made to order, we aim to deliver within 4-6 weeks from receipt of your payment.

  • How can I change a delivery address if I won’t be home on the day?

    Please contact our sales office for further information. Unfortunately if your order has already been despatched we are unable to change your delivery details.

  • Do you ship overseas?

    Yes we ship worldwide so please contact sales@hectorfinch.com if you require further information and we will provide you with a quote.

  • What products are available for immediate despatch?

    If we have the item in stock we can dispatch within 48 hours but if it is not in stock our usual lead time is 2- 4 weeks.  You will be advised of the lead time by the person processing your order when the order is received. If the item is not in stock we usually allow 4-6 weeks for dispatch.  Bespoke items may be 6-8 weeks as they are manufactured to our customer's precise specification.

  • What happens if I change my mind about the order?

    Please consult our Terms & Conditions for further information regarding cancellation of an order. Please be aware that as Bespoke lights are manufactured specifically for your order they cannot be cancelled once any work has commenced.
