This finish is unlacquered and consequently will patinate over time. For that reason we recommend not using this finish for exteriors.
A patinated finish develops on the metal and will give the brass an “aged” appearance. This colouration can be removed, if desired, with the use of an appropriate cleaning agent such as Brasso.
Brass Polished Lacquered:
Polished brass with a protective clear lacquer to maintain its original brightness.
Antique Brass:
Raw brass is patinated with an antiquing fluid to achieve the aged look. A coat of lacquer is applied to seal the colour.
Bronze:
Raw brass is patinated with an antiquing fluid and a wax coating is applied to the metal.
Chrome:
A thin layer of chromium is electroplated to the raw brass.
Nickel Polished:
Raw brass is nickel plated and polished.
Nickel Matte:
Raw brass is nickel plated and brushed lightly to achieve a matte finish.
